Sorry guys, I meant nothing personal. It could have been the torrential rain or the clientele of the night. I have frequented hundreds of dive bars and have a handful of them I have and do call my home but I didn't feel the dank, musty love that I usually get from a good hole in the wall. I'm not opposed to trying it out again and will give it another shot when I visit next year. Again, nothing personal, just an experience from a night in the islands.

Hay, you just trashed our favourite place to hang out and eat
fish and chips, shepherds pie and other pub grub. Anna is great and
works hard at her little place, you are entitled to your opinion
but anyone reading this should know that a lot of St.Thomas locals
love the Toad and Tart.
Come back and give her another try!

One of my customers came acoss your review of your trip to STT and directed me to read your comments on my place, The Toad and Tart:

"This place doesn't even rank as a dive bar on my scale. It was a flat out dump. The food we had was pretty good and a drink is a drink but the atmosphere was somewhere between garbage dump and homeless shelter."

I'm so sorry you felt that way and am actually flabbergasted to read such a negative which is a first in 11 years of business. Thank goodness the hundreds of visitors who pass through my portal every year, who return every year and my otherwise regular customer base don't feel the same way! Of course, if they did, I wouldn't still be in business after all these years...

Cheers, dear!

I'm amused by the number of food related details relative to the number of comments about the actual concert - you didn't say what band was playing.

I am in total agreement with Ryan - our entire trip was a blast, and St. Thomas was gorgeous. It was very hard to leave, and I can't wait to go back!!

I'm with ya on the disappointment of not being able to run. This spring/summer I was working on my distance running. Got up to 16 miles, and then I messed up my achilles tendon. It's been about two and a half months now that I haven't been able to run. Last weekend I thought I was finally getting close to trying it again, but then I had to run a block to catch a bus and that was enough to annoy it. So still no running for me.

It also managed to kill most of the summer backpacking season for me.

Hopefully we don't have too much longer in recovery.
